Popular Seattle-based clothing chain Nordstrom has announced it will drop Ivanka Trump’s clothing line as of fall 2017. In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, the retailer explained its business decision.
“We’ve said all along we make buying decisions based on performance,” the statement said. “Each year we cut about 10 percent and refresh our assortment with about the same amount. In this case, based on the brand’s performance we’ve decided not to buy it for this season.”
It remains unclear whether the #GrabYourWallet movement, which encourages consumers to boycott Trump-branded products, influenced the retailer’s decision.
