Female wrestling pioneer Joanie “Chyna” Laurer has passed away at age 45. In a statement confirming the news, her management team reported that she was found dead in her Los Angeles home on April 20.

Laurer burst onto the professional wrestling scene in the 1990’s, fast becoming a fan favorite. She was an original member of Degeneration X with Triple H before leaving the WWE in 2001. She later posed for Playboy and appeared on celebrity reality show The Surreal Life.
