Valerie Fairman of ’16 and Pregnant’ Suffers Fatal Overdose at Age 23

People Magazine has confirmed that Valerie Fairman, who starred on season 2 of 16 and Pregnant, died after a fatal drug overdose on December 22. Fairman, whose daughter Naveah is 7, was found unresponsive in a locked bathroom inside a friend’s home.

An MTV spokesperson for the popular reality show issued the following statement: “We are saddened by the news of Valerie Fairman’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.”

Fairman struggled with substance abuse for years and sought help multiple times, including during her pregnancy.
