Val Kilmer Slurs Speech at Event, Denies Oral Cancer Diagnosis

Val Kilmer struggled to speak at a November 10 event in Los Angeles, furthering speculation that he is fighting oral cancer, as was recently asserted by Michael Douglas.

Kilmer, 56, was introducing a film version of his one-man play when he began slurring and dabbing at his mouth with a tissue. Afterward, the actor continued to deny he’s battling cancer.

“I went into rehearsals down in Florida and started having trouble with my speech,” Kilmer explained. “Obviously I’m still recovering. My tongue swelled up and I canceled the tour… I have no cancer whatsoever.”
