Actor Alan Thicke, known most recently for his work on Fuller House and This Is Us, died suddenly on December 13. He was 69 years old.

Thicke was playing ice hockey with teenage son, Carter, when he suffered a massive heart attack. As news of his sudden death broke, Thicke’s middle son, Grammy-nominated artist Robin Thicke, shared a tribute to his father on Instagram.

“He was the best man I ever knew. The best friend I ever had,” the Blurred Lines singer wrote. “Let’s all rejoice and celebrate the joy he brought to every room he was in. We love you Alan Thicke. Thank you for your love. Love, your grateful son.”
