Prince Harry sat down with People this week to discuss the Invictus Games, which kick off in Orlando on May 8. During the interview, he also opened up about his late mother, Princess Diana.

“When she died, there was a gaping hole, not just for us but also for a huge amount of people across the world,” Harry said. “If I can try and fill a very small part of that, then job done.”

The young royal, 31, went on to say that he strived to live a life that would make her proud.

“All I want to do is make my mother incredibly proud,” he said. “That’s all I’ve ever wanted to do.”
