John Legend Reacts To Dallas Sniper Attacks on Police

On July 7, two snipers opened fire on police during a Black Lives Matter protest in Dallas, killing five officers and wounding at least seven more. When news of the horrific attack broke, John Legend took to social media to share this thoughts.

“These Dallas shootings are horrific,” Legend tweeted. “Killing these officers is morally reprehensible and completely counterproductive to keeping us safe. Being against cops killing is not equal to being for killing cops. We need peace in our streets.”

The shooters were not connected to the protest, which was a peaceful demonstration against shootings by police earlier this week of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota.
