Actress Carrie Fisher has died at age 60, just days after she suffered a massive heart attack aboard a flight from London to Los Angeles. She leaves behind 24-year-old daughter Billie Lourd.
“It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother, Carrie Fisher, passed away at 8:55 this morning,” family spokesman Simon Halls said in a statement.
Sources say Fisher, best known for her starring role as Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy, never regained consciousness after the heart attack and remained unresponsive while in the hospital.
