She was crowned a mere four months ago, but Kristhielee Caride has been stripped of her Miss Universe Puerto Rico crown after pageant officials became displeased with her treatment of a local newspaper.

Caride, 24, reportedly told a news outlet that she did not like being in front of cameras, then failed to apologize for the unfortunate comment even after pageant officials pressed the issue. She went on to cancel several other media appearances, refusing to reschedule.

First runner-up Brenda Jimenez will replace Caride.
