Kelly Ripa is ‘Hurt’ By Michael Strahan’s Unexpected Departure, Sources Report

Sources inside Live! With Kelly and Michael say Kelly Ripa had no advance notice of co-host Michael Strahan’s departure, and feels “hurt and upset” by the way she learned the news.

“She was told at the same time as the rest of the world was learning via press release, and she was told in a room full of suits, and Strahan just sat there, mostly mute,” reports a source close to Ripa.

Strahan, who was selected as Ripa’s cohost four years ago after Regis Philbin retired, announced April 20 that he will take a full-time cohost position on Good Morning America in the fall.
