By his own description, Blink 182’s Travis Barker was “very young and wild” when the band shot to fame in the ‘90s. Now, at age 40 and on tour for the first time in years, he’s a changed man.

“I’m feeling younger and better now than I did when I was 20,” Barker tells People Magazine.

Though he struggled with drug and alcohol addiction for years, Barker says becoming a father immediately changed his life for the better.

“I felt myself change immediately,” says Barker, who shares a son and a daughter with ex Shanna Moakler. “I started running, I boxed every day – it’s just something that made me want to be the best parent I could be.”
