Tom Hanks wasn’t shy about his passion for quality female roles at the premiere of My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2.

In a red carpet interview with People, he lamented, “When you look at all the movies that are out there, where are the women and where are women of all ages?”

Hanks and his actress wife Rita Wilson co-produced the second installment of the Nia Vardalos romantic comedy, calling the movie “extraordinary” because Vardalos is “breaking the mold” in Hollywood.

“The rule that says there’s only so much room for women in movies is untrue,” Hanks added.
