In less than a year’s time, Laurie Hernandez won Gold and Silver at the Rio Olympic Games, took home the Dancing With the Stars Mirrorball trophy, and is now a published author.

The homeschooled teen’s new memoir, I Got This: To Gold and Beyond, follows her years of hard work perfecting gymnastics skills and overcoming challenges along the way.

“I put my heart into it,” Hernandez says. “I think when people read the book they’ll see that all the accomplishments I’ve done, they weren’t just given to me. I had to really work hard for them. I want to really inspire people to see that good things happen to those who work for them. If you want something — you should go for it!”
