In the battle to be sole survivor, the May 18 finale featured some epic game play between the three remaining competitors: Tai Trang, Aubry Bracco and Michele Fitzgerald.

As the members of the jury offered advice, compliments and a few well-deserved digs to the finalists, it became clear that all three had won friends – and votes – on the jury. Before the jury could vote, however, Jeff Probst announced that Fitzgerald had won the right to excuse one member of the jury.

In the end, that advantage paid off, and it was underdog Michele Fitzgerald who prevailed, winning a million dollars and the title of Sole Survivor.
