Maksim Chmerkovskiy Comes Out of Retirement To Return To ‘DWTS’

Maks is back in the ballroom!

After retiring from Dancing With the Stars in 2014, Maksim Chmerkovskiy has announced he will return for season 23 of the popular reality show this fall.

“I decided to return to DWTS because I had an amazing time dancing with my brother this summer during our tour,” Chmerkovskiy said of his travelling dance show with brother Val. “I am in the best shape of my life, so why not spend a few months with my brother and the cast members and have fun!”

The full cast for season 23, including Maks’ partner, will be announced on August 30.
