The Academy’s Best Actor in a Leading Role was all smiles as he accepted a long-awaited Oscar for his role in The Revenant.
Leonardo DiCaprio, a six-time Oscar nominee, told reporters backstage that winning the prestigious award had been his “dream” since the age of four. The seasoned actor admitted to feeling completely overwhelmed by the support he had received for his role in the film.
True to character, DiCaprio also used his moment on stage to encourage action on the issue of climate change, which is a cause he has championed for nearly a decade.
