‘Dirty Dancing’ remake casts relative unknown in Patrick Swayze role

The world might not know Colt Prattes yet, but it’s about to.

The relatively unknown actor was recently cast as Johnny Castle in ABC’s upcoming Dirty Dancing musical. The plum role, made famous by the late Patrick Swayze in the 1987 mega hit, will certainly put Prattes on the map.

Fresh off stints in several Broadway productions, Prattes will star as the Catskills resort dance instructor who falls for resort guest, Baby, played by Abigail Breslin.

Though no premiere date has been set, it’s safe to say Prattes is about to become a household name.
