And the Next ‘Bachelor’ is…

In a shocking announcement, ABC has selected Nick Viall as the season 21 Bachelor. Viall, 35, was the runner-up on both Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe’s seasons of the Bachelorette, and he is currently costarring on Bachelor in Paradise.

The Milwaukee, Wisconsin native has displayed a good sense of humor about taking a fourth run at reality show love.

“I’ve certainly had the practice,” Viall joked on the August 30 episode of After Paradise about taking on the Bachelor role. “I’m definitely ready for it — I’m very excited.”

There has been mixed reaction to the news, as many fans of the franchise had expected JoJo Fletcher’s season 12 cast-off, Luke Pell, to get the gig.
